Oxnard Metrolink Crash Results in Serious Injuries and a Death
On February 24, 2015, an eastbound Metrolink train transporting travelers toward Los Angeles County tragically derailed as the result of a truck left on the railroad tracks. As a result 28 people were seriously injured. Unfortunatley, the Engineer, a 62 year old man, one week later passed away at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
Does the deceased Engineer’s family have grounds to sue the party responsible for leaving the truck on the railroad tracks?
Depending upon the outcome of the police investigation the deceased Engineer’s heirs may have a basis for filing a lawsuit against the apparently negligent party. In a wrongful death or wrongful injury lawsuit the injured or deceased party’s heirs may file a civil action to recover damages related to the injuries suffered or death.
